Sip & Spirit :

The last 3 days of March (March 29, 30, 31) have a reputation for being stormy. The Spanish story explains. “Borrowing Days”. A shepherd promised March a lamb if he would temper the winds to suit the shepherd’s flocks. But after his request was granted, the shepherd refused to deliver the lamb. In revenge, March borrowed 3 days from April, in which fiercer winds blew to punish the deceit.  This month our theme is about the element Air. Enjoy an evening learning a little about Breathwork as we capture the movement of the wind.

Occurring annually over April 30th into May 1st , Beltane, the fire festival is derived from the Celtic Bealtaine, meaning bright fire. Mirroring with its counterpart on the wheel, Samhain, the veil between worlds grows extremely thin at this time of year, making this a day for warding off spirits and calling good fortune in.

We begin preparation for the upcoming Summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Occurring annually between the 20th & 22nd of June, this solar festival is celebrated around the world. 

This sabbat is a festival of light, sun, abundance, prosperity, and joy. At its peak, the warm sun shines down blessings for a plentiful harvest of ripened crops, levity, and delight.

Lammas Celebrates the halfway point between the summer solstice and the autumnal equinox. Occurring annually on the first of August , this fire festival is derived from the Celtic Lughnasadh.

A Christianized agricultural festival. Traditionally the first of 3 harvest festivals, this sabbat marks the beginning of the harvest season as the sun’s light begins to wane, making this a time for appreciating & reaping summer’s bounty.
